Letters, 1788-1796 [manuscript]. 1788-1796.

Six letters to Jonathan Stonard of Lambeth (England), a starchmaker. One letter to Thomas Gill. The letters are written from Sydney Cove and possibly Sydney Town, and discuss, among other things, the quality and price of stock, the liquor trade and its associated problems, crops, weather, and family matters. Johnson was also sending seeds to Stonard and seemed to be receiving starch from him.
